ATTORNEY PROFILE
About Andrew Thomas
What sets Attorney Thomas apart from other attorneys is the depth of his legal and personal experience. He is the son of an immigrant from Cuba and therefore understands the immigrant experience firsthand. Andrew also speaks Spanish, and his diverse legal background includes extensive immigration law and civil litigation experience. All of this allows him to be an effective advocate in the courtroom and a compassionate counselor to his clients.
Prior to founding Andrew Thomas Law in 2024, Andrew worked for a prestigious Center City immigration law firm in its removal defense and appellate litigation practice. Previously, as an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Justice at Work (formerly Friends of Farmworkers), Andrew provided civil legal services, including in the areas of immigration and employment law, to low-wage migrant workers throughout Pennsylvania. Andrew also worked for several years in New York City as an immigration law paralegal, both at a small immigration law firm and in the Asylum Legal Representation Program at Human Rights First.
In addition, Andrew brings five years of federal court clerkship experience to his practice. After graduating Order of the Coif from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2013, Andrew served as a law clerk to the Honorable David R. Strawbridge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as a law clerk to the Honorable Mitchell S. Goldberg in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and as a staff attorney in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Andrew is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and he can practice immigration law in any state. He is admitted to practice before various federal district and appellate courts, including the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit based in Philadelphia. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Andrew is fluent in Spanish.
